 Kabuki is one of the most popular dance forms in Japan. Kabuki, a traditional dance form that dates back more than 4 centuries, is characterized by singing as well as beautiful dance.




The kabuki dances in these plays are performed on a stage that is dressed in traditional Japanese kimono and traditional make-up called kumodori. This is simply like our ballet.



Drama is a dance form. There are many dance styles and designs in kabuki dance. Most of these movement patterns are learned through training and physical experience. In this dance you have to learn a lot of movement techniques and body handling techniques. He displays the content of the play the most through his movements, gestures and music.


Kabuki is an art form rich in showmanship. It involves elaborately designed costumes, eye-catching make-up, outlandish wigs, and arguably most importantly, the exaggerated actions performed by the actors. The highly-stylized movements serve to convey meaning to the audience; this is especially important since an old-fashioned form of Japanese is typically used, which is difficult even for Japanese people to fully understand.

Kabuki can still be seen as a living tradition in Japan.
